Hobs at Blue Moon Rising on Deep Creek Lake

Our first major project was building 13 tiny houses or “Hobs” at Blue Moon Rising on the beautiful shores of Deep Creek Lake, McHenry, Maryland. Blue Moon Rising is an eco-friendly vactaion retreat. It is the first and only vacation oriented tiny house community in Maryland.

Each “Hob” has a different design and personality.  An emphasis on using reclaimed, recycled and local materials gives these tiny houses a feel that’s not easy to find. Antique heart yellow pine from the Andrew Carnegie Locomotive Building in Pittsburgh, doors and windows from a great old home in the Baltimore area, hardware and a myriad of other architectural items find a new purpose with us.

Each of these tiny houses were designed to sleep two to four people, includes a 3/4 kitchen and a full bath. Despite the rustic outwardly appearance of our Hobs each one is built with thermal pane windows, and foam blown insulation creating a highly efficient tiny house. Square footage for these Hobs ranges from 228′-455′.

All of our Hobs can be found at Blue Moon Rising on Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. We encourage everyone to stay at Blue Moon Rising. A picture is better than words but there is nothing better than the gentle hug you feel standing inside a Hob. For more information or to book a stay click on the link below.
